Carl Hagelin, a Michigan forward, paused to savor the atmosphere.
"I think we all got goose bumps," Hagelin said. "It was just amazing to see all those people -- probably the loudest environment I've ever been in."

For the Miami Heat season opener against the Boston Celtics, John Todora and his business partner Bob Hartley had an idea that would likely increase business at their bar.
They'd promise to pay the bar tab if the Heat lost.
The rules?
Fans much come into the bar, Whiskey Tango in Hollywood, Fla., located about 20 miles from Miami, and sign up on a list at least 30 minutes before tipoff. If the Heat lost the game, that fan would earn a $25 credit towards his or her alcohol bill.
The Heat lost the game, played on Oct. 27, 80-88. And although the bar...

Atlanta, Georgia (CNN) -- Bobby Maurice Tillman, the Georgia teen stomped to death outside a home where a party was being held, died from a lacerated heart, Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniel told CNN Tuesday.
He said the 18-year-old likely suffered a break in a rib bone, which in turn punctured his heart. If the young man had not been stomped, he probably would not have been injured in that way and would have survived the beating, Daniel added.
Police say Horace Damon Coleman, 19, Emanuel Benjamin Boykins, 18, Quantez Devonta Mallory, 18, and Tracen Franklin, 19, stomped and beat Tillman outside...

BOSTON -- Celtics coach Doc Rivers confirmed a locker room fight occurred between reserve guards Delonte West and Von Wafer following Friday's morning shootaround, but didn't care to elaborate much on the topic.
"There was a fight and that's all you need to know," Rivers said. "I'm going to leave it alone. Obviously, I'm not real thrilled that it happened, but we'll handle it."
The two players were guarding each other in a game of three-on-three when West repeatedly fouled Wafer, according to a report on Hoopsworld.com, which first reported the incident. Wafer headed to the locker room in the team's practice...
